Our goal is for the San Francisco Symphony to be a thriving nonprofit organization that exudes creativity, performs at the highest level, and has a broad and passionate patron base. Over the next 3–5 years, we must be intensely focused on connecting our symphony with more people to enable financial stability and fuel artistic impact.
As the Symphony progresses through contract negotiations with the American Federation of Musicians (AFM), the union representing the members of our orchestra, we will post relevant information and updates on this website. The SF Symphony is committed to good faith bargaining and reaching a fair and sustainable contract that moves everyone forward.

“I love the joyful, welcoming, and inclusive spirit that embraces me when I come to the symphony. From noticing musicians walking to Davies toting their instruments to being guided by the sincere warmth and friendliness of the ticket scanners and ushers to connecting with the creativity and happiness of the fellow concertgoers. I cherish the special feeling of being part of the community experience. I am in awe of the dedication and expertise of the musicians: I rejoice in being emotionally and intellectually transported by the art created in the moment; and I adore how this all happens without snootiness or pomposity but generosity, good humor, and goodwill.”
